Madder Lake was launched in April of this year at Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, Dublin. The printed publication was a hedonist spinoff from a series of artist conversations that took place around the country. The three conversations were loosely structured within a psychoanalytic framework under the main title 'Deep-Seated' and subtitled ('Orgies') of 'Scary', 'Naughty' and 'Shame'. The Deep-Seaters were: Alan Butler, Conor Mary Foy, Teresa Gillespie, Breda Lynch, Ian Black, Vicky Langan, Alan Phelan. 100 copies were printed; this is an inadequate online version. I am hoping to make some of the printed copies available at the next Temple Bar Gallery & Studios Book Fair. Watch this space.💀
Since Madder Lake, Madder Lake [ahem] Editions has manifested as a critical writing afterthought. Read more here
The 'Deep-Seated' talks were kindly supported by the Irish Arts Council.
